Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before accessing or playing Trivia by The Gospel Games (“the Game”). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and The Gospel Games (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and govern your use of the Game across all supported platforms: iOS (Apple App Store), and Android (Google Play Store).

By downloading, accessing, or playing the Game — whether as a guest or as a registered user — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you must not access or use the Game.

 1. About The Gospel Games

Trivia by The Gospel Games is a Bible-based quiz game designed to be fun, educational, and suitable for all ages (rated 4+). It is available on web browsers, iOS, and Android devices and is built using the Unity game engine.

Current features include quiz gameplay, progress tracking, in-game rewards and collectibles, game-wide and country-based leaderboards, push notifications, and links to our official social media pages. The Game does not currently include multiplayer functionality, in-game chat, social sharing features, or in-app purchases.

 We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time without notice. We will not be liable if, for any reason, all or any part of the Game is unavailable at any time or for any period.

 

2. Acceptance of These Terms and Changes

By using the Game, you accept these Terms. We may revise and update these Terms from time to time at our sole discretion. Any changes are effective when we post them, with an updated “Last Updated” date. Where we make material changes, we will also notify you within the Game or by email where we hold your address.

Your continued use of the Game following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Game.

 

3. Eligibility and Parental Consent

The Game is rated 4+ and is intended to be enjoyed by players of all ages. The following conditions apply:

• Players under 13: must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to access the Game. By permitting a child to use the Game, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on the child’s behalf and accepts responsibility for the child’s use
• Players aged 13 to 17: should review these Terms with a parent or guardian
• Players aged 18 and over: confirm they have full legal capacity to enter into this agreement

You agree not to use the Game in any way that exploits, harms, or attempts to exploit or harm minors, including by exposing them to inappropriate content or soliciting personally identifiable information from them.

If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at the details in Section 20.

 

4. Account Registration and Security

a. Creating an Account

To access features such as progress saving and leaderboards, you will need to create an account. You may register by creating an account directly (with a username, password, and country) or by signing in via Google or Apple for convenient account creation and recovery.

 You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date.

 b. Account Security

If you are provided with, or choose, a username, password, or similar credentials, you agree to treat that information as confidential and to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or use of your account or any other breach of security. You remain responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

 We have the right to disable any username, password, or other identifier, whether chosen by you or assigned by us, at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, you have violated any provision of these Terms.

 c. Usernames and Avatars

Your username will be visible to other players on leaderboards. You must not select a username that is offensive, misleading, or that impersonates another person or entity. We reserve the right to require you to change your username at our discretion.

 Avatars are selected from pre-set options provided within the Game. You may not upload photographs or custom images.

 d. One Account Per Player

You may only maintain one account at a time. Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage on leaderboards or in gameplay is strictly prohibited.

 

5. Permitted and Unpermitted Use

a. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, personal licence to access and play the Game for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by us.

 b. Unpermitted Use

You agree that you are not permitted to, and will not, use the Game:

• In any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, national, or international law or regulation
• For the purpose of exploiting, harming, or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way
• To impersonate or attempt to impersonate The Gospel Games, any of our team members, another user, or any other person or entity
• To engage in any conduct which may harm us, users of the Game, or expose them or us to liability
• In any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the Game or interfere with any other person’s use of it
• Using any robot, spider, or other automatic device, process, or means to access the Game for any purpose, including monitoring or copying any material
• To introduce any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious or technologically harmful material
• To attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any part of the Game or any server, computer, or database connected to it
• To attack the Game via a denial-of-service attack or distributed denial-of-service attack
• To reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Game
• To copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works based on the Game or its content without our prior written consent
• For any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

You also agree that you will not send, upload, download, use, or re-use any material which:

• Is defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, offensive, harassing, violent, hateful, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Promotes sexually explicit material, violence, or discrimination on any basis including race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
• Infringes any patent, trade mark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights of any other person
• Violates the legal rights (including rights of publicity and privacy) of others
• Promotes any illegal activity, or advocates, promotes, or assists any unlawful act
• Involves unsolicited commercial activities, spam, contests, sweepstakes, or advertising
• Gives the false impression that the material originates from or is endorsed by The Gospel Games

 

6. Gameplay Rules and Fair Play

Trivia by The Gospel Games is built on values of integrity and respect, consistent with the Christian faith that inspires it. By playing, you agree to the following:

 a. Fair Play

• You will not cheat, exploit bugs or glitches, use automated bots or scripts, or use any third-party software to gain an unfair advantage
• You will not manipulate scores, leaderboard rankings, or in-game rewards through dishonest means
• You will not interfere with the operation of the Game or the experience of other players

 b. Leaderboards

• Game-wide and country-based leaderboards are features of the Game. Your username and scores may be visible to other players
• Rankings are based on gameplay performance. Any attempt to artificially inflate scores or rankings is a breach of these Terms

 c. Notifications

• The Game may send push notifications based on your gameplay activity and local time zone, where you have permitted such notifications
• You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your device settings (iOS or Android) or within the Game

 

7. User Contributions and Game Progress

Your game progress, quiz history, scores, collectibles, in-game currency, and related data (collectively, “User Contributions”) are associated with your account and retained while it remains active.

By using the Game and generating User Contributions, you grant us and our service providers the right to use, process, and store such data in order to operate the Game and provide you with its features, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You acknowledge that:

• In-game currency, collectibles, points, and rewards have no real-world monetary value and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed outside the Game
• We do not guarantee indefinite storage of User Contributions and may reset or remove data for technical or operational reasons, with reasonable notice where possible
• Leaderboard entries visible to other players prior to account deletion may remain visible until leaderboards are refreshed
• We are not responsible or liable to any third party for the content or accuracy of any User Contributions

 

8. Intellectual Property

a. Our Content

The Game and all its contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to graphics, artwork, animations, music, sound effects, text, quiz questions, categories, software, and overall design — are owned by The Gospel Games, our licensors, or other providers of such material, and are protected by copyright, trade mark, patent, trade secret, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, or create derivative works from any Game content without our express prior written permission.

 b. Trademarks

“Trivia by The Gospel Games”, “The Gospel Games” and associated logos and branding are trademarks of The Gospel Games. You must not use these marks without our prior written permission. All other names, logos, and product names featured in the Game are the trade marks of their respective owners.

 c. Copyright Infringement

 d. Third-Party Content

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Game, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, implement, and develop that feedback without any obligation or compensation to you.

 

9. Reliance on Game Content

The quiz content and biblical information presented in the Game are provided for general educational and entertainment purposes. Whilst we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of biblical content, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information in the Game.

 Any reliance you place on content within the Game is at your own risk. We disclaim all liability arising from any reliance placed on such content by you or any other user of the Game.

 

10. Monitoring, Enforcement, and Legal Compliance

You agree that we have the right to:

• Take any action with respect to any user account that we deem necessary or appropriate in our sole discretion if we believe there has been a violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, a threat to the safety of others, or a risk of harm to the Game or our reputation
• Take appropriate action, including referral to law enforcement and disclosure of your information, for any illegal or unauthorised use of the Game
• Suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Game for any violation of these Terms, or for any other reason we consider appropriate

 We reserve the right to fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or information of anyone using the Game. YOU WAIVE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE GOSPEL GAMES AND ITS SERVICE PROVIDERS AND ALL OF THEIR TEAM MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AND DIRECTORS FROM ANY CLAIMS RESULTING FROM ANY ACTION TAKEN DURING OR AS A RESULT OF LEGAL INVESTIGATIONS BY US OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES.

 

11. Purchases and Payments

The Game is currently free to play and does not include in-app purchases. In-game currency, collectibles, and rewards are earned through gameplay and have no real-world monetary value.

 If we introduce paid features or in-app purchases in the future, we will update these Terms before enabling such features and seek any required consents. Any future purchases will also be subject to the payment terms of the relevant platform (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

 

12. Third-Party Services, Links, and Platforms

The Game is built using Unity and is distributed via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the web. Your use of the Game on those platforms is also subject to the applicable third-party terms:

 If you sign in via Google or Apple, your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, any third-party services, websites, or resources.

If you access any third-party site linked from the Game, you do so entirely at your own risk and subject to that site’s own terms.

 

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy matters to us. The collection, use, and storage of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and is available within the Game and on our website.

 All information we collect through the Game is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Game, you consent to all actions taken by us in compliance with the Privacy Policy.

 

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

 YOUR USE OF THE GAME, ITS CONTENT, AND ANY FUNCTIONALITY OR SERVICES OBTAINED THROUGH THE GAME IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE GAME IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

THE GOSPEL GAMES MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION WITH RESPECT TO THE COMPLETENESS, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, QUALITY, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY OF THE GAME. WE DO NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, ERROR-FREE, OR UNINTERRUPTED; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; THAT THE GAME OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS; OR THAT THE GAME WILL OTHERWISE MEET YOUR NEEDS OR EXPECTATIONS.

15. Limitation of Liability

 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE GOSPEL GAMES, ITS DEVELOPERS, DIRECTORS, TEAM MEMBERS, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE GAME, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• LOSS OF GAME PROGRESS, IN-GAME CURRENCY, COLLECTIBLES, OR ACCOUNT DATA
• ERRORS OR INACCURACIES IN QUIZ OR BIBLICAL CONTENT
• INTERRUPTION, SUSPENSION, OR UNAVAILABILITY OF THE GAME
• UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT OR DATA
• ANY RELIANCE PLACED ON CONTENT WITHIN THE GAME
• LOSS OF REVENUE, PROFITS, BUSINESS, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS
• LOSS OF GOODWILL OR DATA

 THE FOREGOING APPLIES WHETHER CAUSED BY TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF FORESEEABLE.

 Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

 Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £50 (fifty pounds sterling).

 

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Gospel Games and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, and each of their respective officers, directors, team members, contractors, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your use of the Game other than as expressly authorised by these Terms
• Your User Contributions
• Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party

 

17. Suspension and Termination

a. Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Game, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, engaged in cheating or harmful conduct, provided false registration information, or engaged in any illegal activity in connection with the Game.

 b. Termination by You

You may stop using the Game at any time. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at the details in Section 20. Upon account deletion, your personal data and User Contributions will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to the exceptions noted therein.

 c. Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your licence to use the Game ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including those relating to intellectual property, reliance on information, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — shall continue to apply.

 

18. Account Deletion and Data

If you request deletion of your account:

• All personal data and User Contributions associated with your account — including game progress, quiz history, collectibles, and profile information — will be permanently deleted
• We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days
• Leaderboard entries visible to other players prior to deletion may remain visible temporarily until leaderboards are refreshed
• Information submitted to our support email will be retained for as long as necessary to resolve the matter in question
• Information you have shared with others about the Game may remain visible to them or in third-party search engine caches until those services refresh

 

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If you access the Game from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, those statutory rights are not affected by these Terms.

 We encourage you to contact us in the first instance to resolve any dispute informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Waiver and Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

 Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the sole and entire agreement between you and The Gospel Games with respect to the Game and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to the Game.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

No Partnership

Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, or employment relationship between you and us.

Language

These Terms are written in English. The English language version shall govern in all circumstances. Any translated version is provided for convenience only and is not legally binding.
